ACER buergerianum -see Trident Maple

Fast growing, with small three lobed leaves and grey bark which exfoliates in large pieces on a mature tree. Often used for Bonsai, also wonderful for a container tree, though reduction pruning should begin early to maintain size and proportion. Excellent heat and cold tolerance.
