ACER palmatum O kagami

Big dark red leaf emerges in spring changes to almost black purple in summer and scarlet in the fall. The name means 'Large Mirror' referring to the reflective qualities of the large dark leaf. Vigorously growing in youth, though not a large tree in maturity. Excellent cold tolerance. A bold statement in the garden.
