I'm intrigued by the unusual grey bark, more typical in Acer Shirasuanum. The multi-trunk growth habit and strong curving branches of this tree are elegant with the slightly drooping deeply divided leaves. The red in summer is less purple than most and fall brings pure scarlet red. Best suited to cooler climates.
