The most finely cut of all the laceleaf maples, a wonderful deep red that holds its color through the entire summer even in shade. Surprisingly sun tolerant, grown in full sun in milder climates. Extremely slow growing though not at all difficult to grow. Wide spreading mounding habit. You can stake a leader on this tree in youth for a curving form.
