Known as the coral bark maple, the red bark is a wonderful silhouette against the snow or a grey winter landscape. Spring leaves emerge pale green, a great contrast to the bark. Fall is a clear yellow. Very fast growing and upright, this tree is disposed to disease from spring frost damage and is best grown in warmer climates.
