The best of the red spring color types, 'Shindeshojo' emerges bright cherry red early in spring for a brilliant display of color.Leaves develop a brick red edge and slowly turn to a light green.New growth continues to push through June creating layers of color. My mother chose this tree as the centerpiece of her garden and mine is outside my kitchen window. Small leaves, fine branching, wonderful form, as wide as tall. Excellent heat tolerance, will grow in full sun, needs protection from late frosts.
