Also known as 'Ruby Stars', spring emergence is ruby red on this small upright tree changing to a deep red in summer. As summer progresses the vein on the small star-shaped leaves slowly suffuses with green creating texture and depth. Open habit and somewhat angular structure and green bark. Slow growing, though not difficult, a wonderful tree for a small garden or container.
