A deeply divided leaf with nine long, pointed lobes curling slightly under similar to Trompenberg. Deep red with a pronounced green vein in spring changing to rich brick red through summer with red seeds appearing above the leaf and orange and red fall . Short internodes allow each leaf to lay on top of another creating a beautiful flowing effect. The name means 'Elegant'. Slow growing, needs protection from afternnon sun, excellent for colder climates.
