There is a luminous, almost florescent quality to the color of the Acer circinatum cultivars and this is the best yet. Bright orange with a yellow vein and red stems in spring quickly changing to dark red, almost black with full sun through the summer. An upright growing tree with big orbicular leaves that curl under slightly at the lobes. I'm very pleased with the vigor of this tree, growing beautifully in the hottest and coldest conditions. Best color is achieved with protection from afternoon sun. I would love to see A.c. Burgandy Jewel planted with A.c. Sunglow for a stunning spring display of color.
